This is a very early playable prototype of the game "Path Changer" that I developed a few years ago. Current state of this project unfortunatelly is abandoned. I am not currently working on this. All following graphics are subject to change and are not part of the gameplay demonstrations in the prototype.

Game Concept
You control a character running and jumping through short levels with a twist: There are active and inactive platforms you can activate or deactivate by pressing a button.

Artstyle

To keep everything simple, I decided to stick with a low-resolution pixel look. The major reason to keep the artstyle simple is that I want to keep my focus more on coding the gameplay, to make sure everything is fun to play. I'm still learning to do pixel art, so pretty much all of that is subject to change and a learning process in this project.

Thank you so much for your time you spent reading this!

Install instructions

DISCLAIMER: WebGL, Windows and Linux versions are tested by me. Unfortunatelly I had no opportunity to test the MacOS build.

WebGL

Simply hit the "Run Game" button on top of the page. You can use either the keyboard or a Xbox Controller to play the game in the browser. Unfortunatelly it does not work with a PS4 Controller, check out the download versions for PS4 Controller support.

Windows

Download the .zip archive and unzip it at a location of your choosing. Double-click the "Pathmaker Prototype.exe" to run the game. You can use either the keyboard, a Xbox Controller or a PS4 Controller.

Linux

Download the .zip archive and unzip iz at a location of your choosing. I tested the game on a ubuntu based system. Right click on "Pathmaker_Prototype.x86_64" and go to the File properties and make sure the application is allowed to run as a executable. Afterwards double click it to run the game. Let me know if the game works on other distributions as well.

MacOS

Unfortunatelly I have no opportunity to test the game on a Mac because I do not own one. I wanted to provide the build for MacOS anyways. I greatly appreciate feedback on the MacOS version.
